When we think of obtaining a certain “image” we often look to what is accepted from the general population. So much that we strive so hard to get to a point where we feel that we have reached “their” goal and not our own. We get so wrapped up in perfection that it often turns into disappointment. Disappointed that we have not obtain a certain beauty, physique or acceptance when it may not actually fit our own personal wants and needs.

I have been up and down in this game of trying to look a certain way. Many people felt that I should be petite and skinny by now because everyone that knows me know that I eat very well in regards to nutritional food. I first started this journey when I was 23 ( I am 35 now). I worked out so hard to fit an image because I was trying to please others and not myself. I had lost a considerable amount of weight where I was down to a size 4, The first in my adult life but I was not happy. I had always been a 9/10 throughout high school. Years after I would go up and down because of crazy things that happened in my life. I made food my comfort which was not great at times.

As I have gotten older I realized that you have to go at your own pace. One size does not fit all. The only way to enjoy your journey, is to use your comfort as you guide. At this point in my life I think I am in great shape. I may not be a size 4 but I am loving every moment that I put in taking care of my body. I am still working towards a goal, BUT it is a goal for ME.

When trying to obtain a certain goal of Nutrition and fitness, go at a pace that is comfortable for you. Try not to listen too much to what others may feel you should be at by now. Its all a journey that only you can guide to where you will enjoy to the fullest.

Once you feel comfortable and fearless of how you would like to be, everything will fall into place to the point where you will look and feel better than ever without anyone’s approval.

Enjoy the Journey!FontCandy
